I guarantee all dog lovers will enjoy this book immensely. If you are partial to Golden Retrievers you'll love it even more. What makes it so special is that these are stories about rescued dogs, and as you read about each dog, you learn about its personality and soon find yourself experiencing a multitude of emotions depending upon the story (dog you are reading about). One moment you'll laugh, the next moment you'll feel pain or sadness, and sometimes anger will creep in over how some of these beautiful Golden's were treated prior to being rescued. The bottom line is, I hope after reading LOST SOULSFOUND, if ownership of a dog is in your future, please consider adopting a special needs Golden. You will discover in this book that such dogs are often very hard to place, but the rewards of adopting are so immense you will forever be thankful that you took that step to adopt. I think you will find this book to be highly inspirational and entertaining as you discover the phenominal bonding between these loving goldens and their new owners. My favorite story is on page 29,entitled --"That Dog IS Family." Check out the name and you'll discover why.
If you love dogs, and especially if you love Goldens, you won't want to miss this inspiring collection of stories from people who have either adopted or fostered Golden Retrievers. While it is heart-breaking to learn that some rescued Goldens actually have to be taught how to play, you will be inspired by the stories in this book.
I adopted a German Shepherd earlier this year, but since I have always love Goldens this book has inspired me to look forward to adopting or fostering a Golden Retriever some day.
This book was the first one I read from Happy Tails Books. Since then I have also read the one about Boston Terriers, dachshunds, and pit bulls. I am currently reading the new one about Labrador Retrievers. The front of each book includes a list of the rescue organizations that are receiving money from the sale of these books.

Whether you like Golden Retrievers or just dogs in general, this book will be a real tearjerker from beginning to end. In fact, the stories were more emotional for me than the ones in the previous book Lost souls found inspirational stories of rescued Boston Terriers. More worse cases of neglect and wrongdoing by humans and unfortunately not all storied end as we would wish them to end.
Coping with the loss of an animal is something we should read about more because a lot of us have already lost an animal once in their life and can really relate to these stories. You'll read about how others cope with their loss and how rescuing a dog can bring their life back on track and maybe yours as well?
The funniest story was definitely the one were a Golden thinks he's adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Santa! One of the most exciting but also saddest stories was the one about Olivia, who was `taken' from a shelter in terrible conditions.
Since Golden Retrievers are one of the cutest and most popular dogs (at least here in Europe) I hope a lot of people will read this book and consider adopting a Golden rather than buying a puppy (do try to say no to dog shops!). Even though they are such popular dogs they also end up in shelters quite much. There might just be the perfect match waiting for you somewhere in a shelter!
This book will keep your full attention at all times and will make you understand why it's such a rewarding, fulfilling job to rescue animals and find or give them their `forever' home.
This is a quick read...I love Golden Retrievers & loved reading the stories about them...so glad people rescue!! They are the perfect breed if you want a larger dog...great with kids, smart, easy to train..
The stories are short and sweet. Any dog person would love them, even if they did not own Golden Retrievers.
I am a foster for the Golden Retriever Rescue and loved reading these stories of what it is like to become a part of finding forever homes for these beautiful dogs. It explains what these organizations do to make people aware of the benefits of fostering and adopting and the need for volunteers to help with the process. These stories can't help but warm your heart.
I loved this book. The stories are heartwarming and tell the stores of lots of dogs (and some people) who needed help and found it. Each story is written by the dog owners, so you get a real taste for how it feels to bring a dog like this into your life. I recommend this book to anyone who's rescued a dog, considers rescuing a dog, or just loves dogs and dog stories! I bought 6 for my friends and family!
